Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Sankara Yatra Services, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may sometimes affect your travel plans. We are committed to maintaining complete transparency while treating every pilgrim fairly and respectfully.

1. Booking Confirmation

Your booking is confirmed only upon receipt of the prescribed advance booking amount.

Please note that the advance booking amount may be utilised towards permit processing, documentation, and other operational arrangements required for your pilgrimage.

2. Cancellation by the Pilgrim

If you wish to cancel your booking, please inform us at the earliest by email or WhatsApp.

Cancellation requests will be considered in accordance with the applicable cancellation policy communicated at the time of booking. Any government fees, permit charges, visa charges, or other non-recoverable expenses already incurred may be deducted before processing any eligible refund.

As the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra involves advance commitments with government authorities and third-party service providers, cancellation charges may vary depending on the stage of the booking and the services already confirmed.

3. Medical Cancellations

If you are unable to travel due to a medical condition, please inform us as early as possible.

We will review such requests compassionately on a case-by-case basis. Where operationally feasible, we will try to accommodate you in a future batch. However, any non-recoverable expenses already incurred cannot be refunded.

4. Batch Transfer

If you are unable to travel but wish to postpone your pilgrimage, please contact our team as early as possible.

Where operationally feasible, we will be happy to discuss transferring your booking to a future batch, subject to availability and any applicable operational costs.

5. Changes Due to Circumstances Beyond Our Control

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is subject to international regulations and high-altitude operating conditions.

In the event of circumstances beyond our reasonable control—including government restrictions, Tibet/China border closures, permit or visa restrictions, natural calamities, adverse weather, political situations, or other Force Majeure events—we will make every reasonable effort to offer:

  • Transfer to a future available batch, or
  • An alternative pilgrimage (where feasible), or

A refund after deducting any non-recoverable government fees, permits, visas, or third-party commitments already paid.

6. Package Pricing

The package prices published on our website are approximate and subject to change.

Final pricing may vary due to:

  • Exchange rate fluctuations (USD and Chinese Yuan)
  • Government permit or visa charges
  • Other operational costs beyond our control

Any price revision will always be communicated before the final balance payment.

7. Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included in our packages.

Although optional, we strongly recommend that pilgrims obtain suitable travel insurance covering medical emergencies, cancellations, baggage loss, and other travel-related risks.

8. Refund Processing

Where a refund is applicable, it will be processed to the original payment method within a reasonable period after completion of the necessary formalities.
